PM4NGOs is dedicated to advancement in the project management skills of individuals and organizations working in the development sector throughout the world.

PM4NGOs promotes and sustains the professionalism of program and project management in the international development sector and is the owner of Project DPro (PMD Pro), Program DPro, Finance DPro (FMD Pro), and MEAL DPro.

All FR=SH Finance DPro participants will have the option to take the exam to become certified.

The Finance DPro (FMD Pro) certification improves the financial management skills of non-financial managers – running projects for development and humanitarian organizations. This supports the goal of maximizing the impact of these organizations’ endeavours. The certification focuses on several unique factors which impact the way finances in international development and relief projects.

The content of the Finance Pro (FMD Pro) is tools-focused and designed to provide actionable learning. Increased consistency and quality in professional development will translate into increased consistency and quality service delivery to communities.

Why Become Certified?

In an industry that relies upon projects to complete its work, a certification helps ensure that project managers are ready to effectively manage their projects around the world. The PM4NGOs certifications are internationally recognized and serve as an evidence of acquired skills and competences.

Finance DPro Certification

The Finance DPro (FMD Pro) certification exam is available online at the PM4NGOs Exams Platform. The certification requires the candidate to successfully complete the Finance DPro certification examination. The 75-question multiple-choice examination is taken online and requires test-takers to demonstrate that they know and understand the content of the Finance DPro Guide. The pass mark is 65% – or 49 correct answers.  The learning objectives for the Finance DPro examination are found in the Appendix of the guide.

As of October 1, 2022, all D Pro Exams are open book with a duration of 2h (120 minutes). Please check the FAQ to check what an open book exam is.

Exams have the same composition, content, and recognition regardless the price. The different prices have been set to benefit local and community-based organizations, students, and volunteers. PM4NGOs implement auditing processes periodically, requesting proof of status (e.g., student card) of candidates who selected local or in-country organization pricing.

Important note: All exams are valid for 1 (one) year after purchasing. Fees are non-refundable once the candidate starts the exams, regardless if the candidate completes the exam.

As an accomplished Operational Executive and Senior Financial Professional with 21 years of international and national NGO experience, Sareta honours her commitment to fostering collaboration across cultural boundaries and recognizes the importance of adaptability to diverse approaches. Sareta is proven at working both autonomously and within teams, demonstrating proven leadership capabilities in managing, developing, and inspiring teams to achieve objectives as well as exempting strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills

As a senior consultant Sareta is well qualified and experienced in running various different trainings and consultancies. Her experience includes consultancies for NGO staff and local partners in more than 48 African, Caribbean, US, UK, Europe,  Asia  and Pacific countries. Sareta has a real passion for NGO capacity building and strengthening, has mentored many non-profit organizations to be more effective and to become financially sustainable. She has supported the establishment of two social enterprises in Ethiopia and Sudan over the last couple of years.

Sareta has successfully integrated her leadership and management skills with her consultancy and training experience. She is able to apply this in supporting organisations to strengthening their capacity in financial management, financial sustainability and accountability on the road to becoming more resilient. Sareta has practical experience in auditing, finance and corporate marketing in the NGO, commercial and public sector.

On larger projects Sareta works and collaborate with a team of local consultants based in Africa, with a minimum of 15 years experience working in Africa with Financial Management and Sustainability expertise.

Sareta Thomas having been associated with legacy Mango and Humentum since 2004, Sareta’s journey has been marked by significant contributions. She served as Humentum’s Regional Director for Africa from 2018 to 2023, where she played a pivotal role in ensuring clients had access to Humentum’s services and products. Her responsibilities included developing and maintaining relationships and building a strong community with Humentum’s key stakeholders across Africa. Transitioning back to being a Humentum Associate and  independent consultant in March 2023, Sareta continues her impactful work, leveraging her extensive experience in running various training and consultancy programs.
